How Kenyans celebrated new year 2024 at Uhuru Park

A section of Kenyans in Nairobi on January 1, 2024, celebrated the new year in style at Uhuru Park.

For instance, children and adults had fun at the recreational facilities within Uhuru Park as business operators and hawkers made huge profits due to the high number of people who were present during the celebrations. 

At the same time, leaders including President William Ruto, deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, Azimio leader Raila Odinga and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka conveyed their messages of happy new year to Kenyans.

“We now have a moment with history to work together to transform our country. With the new year comes our opportunity to do much more and much better. Happy and blessed New Year 2024 to all Kenyans,” President William Ruto posted on X.

According to Gachagua, the new year was an opportunity for Kenyans to put down better strategies for realizing development.

“The dawn of a New Year, 2024, is a Promise of a blank page on which we have the power to put down the strategy of realising our development plan.

“It is premised on a reflection of the previous year for better performance.

“Happy New Year and God’s Blessings to our President and the great Nation of Kenya,” deputy president Rigathi Gachagua noted in a statement.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga was optimistic that most Kenyans would realize their dreams in 2024.

“May the coming year bring you success, happiness, and all the things you’ve been dreaming of. Happy New Year,” stated Raila Odinga.

For the Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, the new year is associated with hope and restoration for Kenyans.

“May this year bring you hope, restoration and prosperity,” stated Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
