National Government Constituency Development Fund (NGCDF) in Bonchari has bailed out schools with financial challenges of implementing the competence based curriculum.
The kitty allocated funds to the schools which did not receive disbursements from the Ministry of Education to put up classrooms for grades 8 and 9.
Inspecting the beneficiary schools, the NGCDF officials defended the area MP Charles Onchoke against allegations of skewed assistance from the kitty.
The NGCDF manager, Thomas Nyakundi, said the kitty had constructed the CBC classrooms at the needy schools in four wards of the constituency at Ksh. 2m each.
Josephine Nyakundi, Ekerore comprehensive school principal, thanked the MP for allocating the institution with money to build the two classrooms and a block of 4 pit latrines for boys.
Plans were on, she disclosed, to do a proposal to the NGCDF for a three storey building owing to land limitation.
Similar sentiments were echoed by her colleague, Norah Matoke, of St.Thomas Mogoga comprehensive school who expressed the need for more assistance from the kitty to tackle current difficulties faced.
James Orwaru, Nyang’iti, comprehensive school , observed owing to the high enrolment and lack of adequate land, the classrooms built took up the space for the offices of the principal and deputy.
He appealed to the kitty to consider helping the school come up with new offices.
