Lawyer turned activist Morara Kebaso has broken his silence after he was physically assaulted by goons during the public participation exercise on the impeachment motion against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Drama ensued on Friday, October 4 noon when Kebaso and his team made their way to the Bomas of Kenya, the venue of exercise in Nairobi County.
It is reported that a group of individuals wanted Kebaso, who has gained fame among Kenyans as a critic of the Kenya Kwanza Government, to leave the venue.
However, a defiant Kebaso was not ready to surrender easily, sitting on the chairs as he waited for his turn to speak to Nairobians on the floor of Bomas.
Soon thereafter, sits started flying in Kebaso’s direction. In a statement on X, Kebaso says that he has been hurt after the altercation.
“I was barred from entering Bomas at the gate. When I finally got in, I was denied the mic at BOMAS floor. Chaos erupted,” Kebaso says. “I am hurt. Headed to hospital. I live to speak another day.”
