Kiharu member of parliament (MP) Ndindi Nyoro has said he holds no grudge against anyone, as he believes revenge, anger and hatred add no value to any leader. 

Nyoro made the remarks during a press briefing at his office in Nairobi on Tuesday March 18, 2025.

“I don’t respond to evil with evil. I also believe that anger and hatred are too heavy a burden for any leader to carry,” he said.

At the same time, Nyoro said he doesn’t know why he was removed as chairperson of the Budget and Appropriations Committee in the National assembly. 

He explained that although his appointment as committee chair was based on broad consultations, no one had informed him about the reasons for his removal.

“I don’t know why I was replaced [as chair of budget committee], no one has ever called me to enquire about my position,” said Ndindi Nyoro.

Nyoro, who is serving his second term in parliament, was ousted last week and replaced by Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi, who is a member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.

The reshuffle also saw allies of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua removed from key parliamentary leadership positions.

The Kiharu MP, who was initially considered a close ally of President William Ruto, disclosed that the last time he spoke with the president on political matters was before October 2024.

“The last political discussion I had with the president—whether in person or through a chat—was before October of last year. I do not wish to discuss personalities any further,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nyoro expressed gratitude to Kenyans for the opportunity to serve as Budget Committee chair, although he did not disclose his next move.
