Former Harambe Stars head coach Jacob Ghost Mulee has opened up about the anguish of a shattered friendship.
In an interview with Billy Miya on ‘Maskani 47’, Mulee shared that he has not recovered from the turmoil caused by a close friend.
Mulee recounted that he entrusted the unnamed friend, whom he regarded as a brother, with his secrets.
“Alikuwa rafiki yangu wa dhati. Yule rafiki unaona ni kakako au ndugu yako, so wafungua moyo wako, unamwambia chochote ukijua huyu hawezi kunidhulumu. Yaani, huyu ni wa toka nitoke. Tulikuwa tumelelewa na kucheza pamoja, hakuna kitu nilimficha,” shared Mulee.
He expressed dismay that the individual, for reasons he does not understand, chose to disclose the secrets.
The co-host of ‘Gidi na Ghost Asubuhi’ on ‘Radio Jambo’ noted that the sting of the betrayal still lingers, particularly when he listens to Nyota Ndogo’s 2007 hit song ‘Watu Na Viatu’.
“Kumbe ni vile Nyota Ndogo alivyoimba kwa ‘Watu Na Viatu’. Nikiiskiza huo wimbo, namkumbuka huyo rafiki niliyemdhamini. Nilimpa siri zangu zote lakini aliniponza. Aliniponza mpaka sasa hivi sina sura. Siwezi siku zote kumpa yeyote siri zangu tena. Ziwezi. Kama huyu bwana aliniponza, ziwezi. Hayo ndiyo maudhi makubwa,” he disclosed.
According to Mulee, the hurt is profound and their friendship is irretrievably broken.
“I have not recovered. But, I try and pray every day so that I can recover, because he caused a lot of damage to me. I thought I had a brother, but no… Simwoni, siwezi pokea simu yake wala sitaki kuzungumza naye,” said Mulee.
He cautioned others against confiding in friends, spouses, or family members, emphasizing that such secrets should be taken to the grave.
“Kuwa na siri zako za ndani. Kuna mambo unaenda nayo kwa kaburi. Usidanganywe na mtu ufungue siri zako zote. Kuna mambo ya wewe na mungu wako tu, bas! Kuna vitu watu, awe bibi, bwana, baba au mama hawafai kujua, wewe nenda nazo kwa kaburi,” he advised.
The award-winning media personality did not reveal the nature of the secret.
