Kabuda, a Viral TikToker and former matatu tout, particularly recognized for his huge body size and distinctive personality, has earned the attention of Kenyans due to his flamboyant lifestyle and extravagant spending habits.
The online content creator recently revealed that he spends at least Ksh7,000 daily on food, totaling Ksh210,000 monthly, a claim that has sparked curiosity and skepticism.
“Let’s say at least a day it’s Ksh7,000 on food. In the morning, it’s a whole loaf, half a tray of eggs, and tea,” Kabuda shared during an interview.
Kabuda also described the highest quantity of food he has ever eaten in a single day, including four full chickens, three pizzas, a tray of pilau, and two sodas.
“Kuna siku nilikula kuku full nne, pizza tatu, sinia ya pilau na soda mbili,” he recalled.
Kabuda’s reputation grew through his work in Nairobi’s matatu industry, where his larger-than-life personality and imposing figure have made him a memorable character.
He became a sensation by recording videos of himself dancing to miondoko moves while calling for passengers to board his bus, capturing the attention of many people online.
When asked about his feelings towards his body from a previous interview, Kabuda shared that he wouldn’t trade it for anything else because it’s what makes him unique and successful.
According to him, maintaining his image including his notably large stomach is essential to his “brand.”
His lavish eating habits have only added to his fame.
“God has given me this body, and I love myself the way I am. I get body shamed a lot, but I’m used to it. I don’t see it as a big deal. Even if you insult me, it’s just temporary. I have no plans to lose any weight.”
Despite the controversy surrounding his alleged expenses on food, to enhance his popularity, some Kenyans question the validity of his claims, while others express humor and fascination with his extravagant lifestyle.
Nonetheless, Kabuda remains unfazed, continuing to enjoy the spotlight.
