Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has vowed to make President William Ruto a one term president.
Speaking on Monday January 27, 2025 at the DAP Kenya offices in Nairobi, Gachagua said he will mobilize every resource and friends to ensure Ruto does not get a second term of Presidency.
According to Gachagua, the biggest hindrance to development in this nation so far has been President Ruto, who he accused of harboring corruption dens at the house on the hill.
The self-proclaimed truthful man continued to wash his former boss’s dirty linen in public, dismissing the President’s claim that he was impeached due to corruption and incompetence.
In his defense, Gachagua said the incompetence he owns up was disagreeing with the President’s sudden change of priorities and promises they had promised Kenyans during the campaign.
“The only incompetence I own up is refusing to be a yes man and challenging the President to fulfill the manifesto that we used when we were campaigning for the presidential office, but instead he became bitter and plotted my ouster,” said Gachagua.
Gachagua who was impeached through parliament barely two years into office, has revealed that Ruto’s government is full of coward appointees to the cabinet who cannot question the head of State.
The former DP likened President Ruto’s cabinet to a praise and worship team and flower girls who only sing to the tune of their master without questioning.
Gachagua who spoke during the official opening of DAP-K offices led by former cabinet secretary Eugene Wamalwa, where he was joined by Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and other legislatures opposed President Ruto’s leadership style.
At the same time, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka urged Kenyans to get ready for a united movement that will weaken President Ruto and UDA party influence across the country before the 2027 general elections.
Kalonzo’s sentiments were echoed by former UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala.
The leaders also took issue with the Head of State over delays in reconstitution of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), accusing him of deliberate delay tactics and a hidden scheme to work around how Kenyan candidate to African Union Commission Raila Odinga performs.
