I’m looking for a job – Jose Mourinho opens up

SportsWORLD

Former Manchester United and Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has revealed that he is actively looking for a job that meets his standards, just a month after being sacked by Serie A side AS Roma.

Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s FIVE podcast, Mourinho stated that he does not enjoy sabbaticals as they only lead him into depression. He added that he has received job offers but none of them interested him.

“I don’t enjoy any day without work. I don’t understand, I’m sorry guys. But I don’t understand people who speak about sabbatical time. Sabbatical time gives me only one thing – depression. So I want a different job,” Mourinho said.

The 61-year-old former Real Madrid and Tottenham manager was sacked by Roma on January 16, 2022, despite leading the Italian club to back-to-back European finals. He won the first and lost the second.

Mourinho has been linked with a return to Manchester United, whom he coached between 2016 and 2018, winning the EFL Cup and the Europa League during his first season.

However, according to the Portuguese, suggestions that he wants to return are wide of the mark. He insists he doesn’t have unfinished business at Old Trafford, stating that the rumors were “not from me.”

A club with an empty trophy room – Mourinho banters Tottenham

In December 2023, the Portuguese criticized Tottenham’s lack of recent success during a conversation with John Obi-Mikel on his podcast.

He brought up his abrupt dismissal by Tottenham just two days before the 2021 Carabao Cup final against Manchester City.

“The most ridiculous one was a club that has an empty trophy room sacks me two days before a final. Tottenham have never won for 50 years. I don’t remember when,” Mourinho said on The Obi One Podcast.
