The National Police Service (NPS) is participating in the ongoing East Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (EAPCCO) Games in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Kenya sent a team of 108 dedicated police officers at the games, demonstrating Kenya’s commitment to fostering strong relationships and cooperation among police in East Africa.
The competition kicked off Sunday, April 27 and will run through May 4, 2025. Notable athletes representing Kenya in athletics include Abel Kisang, Winfred Mbithe, William Raiyan, Damacline Nyakiruri, and Naibei Kiplimo, alongside veteran athlete and medalist Isabella Ochichi. Celebrated marksman Sanford Otundo, champion of the 86th Fullbore Championship at the KDF Rifle Range in Nanyuki, will represent Kenya in the shooting competition.
On the first day of the competition at Ethiopia’s Abebe Bikili National Stadium, Kenya showcased her prowess in athletics. Kenya made a crucial statement in a curtain raiser event Sunday afternoon by bagging the highly coveted Gold in the men’s 4×400m relay.
Leading Kenya to a glorious moment that filled the stadia with ecstacy and cheer were 4×400m bronze medalist in the 2022 Commonwealth games William Rayian, Kipkorir Rotich, Erastus Mbaruka and Eric Kimathi.
With the most precious metal gone, Ethiopia and Tanzania settled for Silver and Bronze respectively.

EAPCCO is a regional law enforcement body comprising 14 member countries. Founded in 1998, it serves as a practical regional initiative to harmonise and strengthen police cooperation and joint strategies against transnational organised crime.
NPS Kenya, the first runners-up in the 4th edition held in Rwanda in 2023, will participate in five disciplines in this year’s 5th EAPCCO Games including athletics, darts, boxing, handball, and shooting.
