INDIA: Man dies after being thrown out of an ambulance while trying to defend his wife

A tragic incident in Uttar Pradesh, India, has shocked the community after a man died under highly unusual circumstances. The incident unfolded when a private ambulance driver allegedly removed a patient named Pradesh from life support and threw him out of the vehicle in an attempt to sexually assault his wife.

The woman had hired the ambulance to transport her husband, Pradesh, home following his discharge from the hospital due to financial constraints. During the journey, the driver asked her to sit in the front seat, claiming it would help avoid police checks. Once she complied, both the driver and his companion began molesting her.

“I was forced to sit in the front seat, and the driver and his companion started molesting me. I objected, but they did not listen,” the woman recounted to the police.

Sensing the imminent danger, her husband and brother, who were in the back of the ambulance, attempted to intervene. The driver and his accomplice then stopped the ambulance near the Chhawani police station, removed the oxygen mask from her husband, and threw him out of the vehicle. They proceeded to lock her brother in the front and sexually assaulted the woman.

In addition to the assault, the attackers robbed the woman, taking over $120, jewelry, her identification card, and her husband’s medical documents. Following the attack, her brother managed to call emergency services, but by the time another ambulance arrived, her husband had already succumbed to his injuries.

The woman has since filed a formal complaint with the police, who are now actively searching for the suspects. “We have lodged a case regarding the incident based on the woman’s complaint. Our teams are working to arrest the accused,” a police spokesperson stated.
