Police officers from Industrial Area Police Station have launched investigations into the alleged murder of Instagram model Starlet Wahu.

The unfortunate incident is said to have occurred on Friday night at an Airbnb apartment in South B area.

According to CCTV footage released by the police, Wahu, who is allegedly Pastor Kanyari’s sister, was seen entering the Y32 in Papino apartments South B in the company of a man on Friday night.

The man, prime suspect in the murder case, has since been identified as John Watara aged 30 years.

On Saturday morning, police officers received an alarming call from the apartment’s management informing them of suspected murder within the building.

When they arrived at the scene, the door was apparently locked from outside and the officers had to break the locks to gain access.

They stumbled upon the lifeless body of Wahu lying in a pool of blood in the sitting room.

Judith Nyongesa, the police commander in Makadara, confirmed the incident, saying the victim must have bled to death.

“We found the woman had bled to death. The victim suffered a quick death,” the police boss added.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Wahu’s body bore bruises and stab wounds on her thighs. The officers indicated that she must have attempted to seek help before passing away just a few steps from the main door.

Their report divulged that the two had rented out the apartment for a night out.

At the crime scene, police recovered HIV testing kits indicating negative results, alongside used condoms, a mobile phone, alcohol, the victim’s clothes and a knife believed to be the murder weapon.

“The case is still ongoing. We want to find out the motive behind the gruesome murder,” the police commander stated.

Sleuths tracked the suspect’s mobile phone that directed them to a Mbagathi Hospital in Nairobi where he was reportedly receiving treatment for stab wounds.

Matara was arrested ahead of questioning to establish motive of the murder.

The deceased’s body was moved to the mortuary pending postmortem.
