Transport was paralyzed on the road near the campus, since 7 am as students cited negligence on the part of the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS).
“We are fighting for our rights, we will not allow comrades to be eaten by hyenas, let the government give hungry hyenas food,” said one of the students.
The students urged the government to intervene either by relocating the campus to another place or the KWS to ensure the animals are confined within the Nairobi National park.
“One of the comrades, Kevin Mwendwa was attacked by a hyena, and there are other several cases we have witnessed where comrades are attacked by wild animals around our campus,” said another student.
21-year-old Kelvin Mwenda was attacked by a hyena along Masai lodge road at 8pm on Monday February 5.
