Two suspects — including a sitting Member of County Assembly (MCA) — have been arrested after being found in possession of bhang in Isiolo.
Nura Abdi Diba and Chari Ward MCA Abdillahi Golicha Meja, 27, were arrested on the outskirts of Isiolo Town by a multi-agency team consisting of officers from the Transnational Organized Crimes Unit.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the two were flagged down while driving a Toyota Land Cruiser car of registration number KDG 034G.
The multi-agency team then proceeded to the house of 25-year-old Abdi at Kambi Garba Estate, where six gunny bags containing 57 stones of the prohibited substance were recovered.
“The exhibits have since been escorted to DCI hqrs for further processing as the suspects undergo investigative interviewing,” the DCI says.
