Rwandese Gospel sensation Israel Mbonyi touched down in Nairobi, Kenya, igniting excitement for his upcoming show at the Ulinzi Sports Complex this weekend on August, 10, 2024.

Set to light up the event from 12 pm to 8 pm on August 10, 2024, Mbonyi will share the spotlight with a stellar lineup of Kenyan gospel stars, including Pitson, Karura Voices, Timeless Noel, Destiny Voices, K-Krew Worship, Adonage Band, and DJ Gee Gee.

Who is Israel Mbonyi?

Born in Musanze, Rwanda, Israel Mbonyi fell in love with music early on. Trained by a local teacher, he was the sole student to complete his guitar course, setting the stage for his future success.

Mbonyi’s breakthrough came with his debut album, Number One, released on March 10, 2014. Featuring hits like “Yankuyeho Urubanza” and “Ku Migezi,” the album, sung in Kinyarwanda, quickly established him as a gospel star.

In 2023, he made waves across East Africa with his Swahili hit, “Nina Siri,” expanding his influence and gaining acclaim in Tanzania and Kenya.

Beyond music, Mbonyi is pursuing a master’s degree in Public Health. He’s dedicated to making a difference both on and off the stage.

Israel Mbonyi’s Kenyan visit comes hot on the heels of his Swahili album success. His hit single, Nina Siri,” has racked up nearly 60 million views.

Since launching “Nina Siri” in 2023, Mbonyi has broadened his appeal across East Africa. As one of Rwanda’s top gospel stars, he’s notched up awards from the African Entertainment Awards USA, Groove Awards Rwanda, and won Best Gospel Artiste and Male Artiste of the Year at the 2023 Isango Na Muzika Awards.

The Rwandan gospel artiste is an avid reader and basketball fan. He was seen at a basketball court enjoying shooting hoops at the BK Arena in Rwanda during a Basketball tournament.

Israel Mbonyi has been touring the media circuit in preparation for his major concert at Ulinzi Sports Complex this Saturday.

He has a one-on-one with Dr. Ofweneke and had a meet and greet with his super fans.
