It’s a big YES! Meru MCA proposes to his girlfriend in India

EntertainmentNational News

A Member of County Assembly (MCA) from Meru County on Christmas Day proposed to his girlfriend during their vacation in India.

Abogeta West MCA Dennis Kiogora flew his lover to India, an unpopular tourist destination for many Kenyans as he stated.

“Many have been asking why we are going for holiday in India (Kenyans are majorly known for going to India for treatment) and this was why!” Kiogora explained.

To him however, it was a well thought out destination -the Taj Mahal- where he intended to proposal his lover and hopefully mark two important events; Christmas and the proposal.

“She said YES and gave me the best Christmas of my life!” an elated Kiogora wrote alongside many snapshots.

He went on to explain that he chose Taj Mahal as his proposal spot because of the history behind it.

“THE TAJ MAHAL! An enduring symbol of Eternal Love that was built 400 years ago by Shah Jahan, in loving memory to his wife Muhtaza Mahal who died giving birth to their child.

“India is very beautiful and we like visiting places that are not popular with many people. Ká Tö, with you, I found my missing rib! We will build our monument for ages,” MCA Kiogora added.

Another politician proposes to his lover

The politician joins a list of lawmakers who made public their relationships.

Mathira MP Eric Wa Mumbi proposed to his lover Murang’a Woman Representative Betty Maina in April this year in a private ceremony attended by close friends.

The two first went public with their relationship in December 2022 when Betty wrote a warm 35th birthday message for Eric on her social media pages.

In November, the two had their traditional wedding in Kigumo, Murang’a County which was graced by a majority of politicians.

Among the notable leaders at the event were; President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua donned in African wear for the colourful ceremony.
