ITTF opens applications for prestigious WISH Programme for female coaches

The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has announced an exciting opportunity for female coaches through the Women in Sport High-Performance Pathway (WISH) Programme, an initiative supported by Olympic Solidarity.

This prestigious 21-month leadership programme aims to increase the number of female high-performance coaches at major international events such as the World Championships and the Olympic Games.

ITTF is inviting Member Associations (MAs) to nominate female coaches for consideration in the programme, which is designed to equip participants with essential leadership skills and coaching expertise.

Programme Structure

The WISH Pathway includes Self-assessment and 360-degree feedback on leadership and sport-specific competencies, Five-day residential training in the UK,eight online leadership sessions and eight leadership mentor sessions and four sport-specific mentor sessions to enhance technical and tactical knowledge.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered, candidates must be 18 years or older, Currently or potentially be part of a national delegation to international events such as the Regional Games, Continental Games, World Championships, Youth Olympic Games, or Olympic Games.

Also have no history of ethical violations, including doping, safeguarding, or competition manipulation, Be committed to the entire programme and have a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 in English proficiency.

The application deadline is March 24, 2025. Interested candidates can apply via the designated link provided by ITTF.

This initiative represents a significant step towards advancing gender equity in high-performance coaching, empowering more women to take leadership roles in global sports events.
