Ivorian fan apologises to wife, kids after going viral for asking pretty Senegalese lady for her number during AFCON game

The Ivorian fan seen in a viral video whispering words to a beautiful Senegalese lady during the Round of 16 match of the 2023 AFCON has broken his silence.

Anselme Santos was seen on the stands of the Charles Konan Banny Stadium uttering some words to the fan during the epic match between the host nation Ivory Coast and Senegal, a match that ended in Ivory Coast knocking out the defending champions on post-match penalties.

The video also shows that the young lady showed little interest in what Santos was telling her.

Speaking to a local media house, Santos has revealed what transpired on the day Ivory Coast stunned the tournament’s favourites.

“The lady is Senegalese. The Senegalese, after their first goal at the stadium, started to play at us in a friendly way. In our turn, when Ivory Coast won the match, we also did the same and that’s when I took the opportunity to ask her for her number because we were happy,” he revealed.

He added: “In the euphoria, I told her, ‘Give me your number, give me your number.’ It wasn’t mean, but she didn’t want to. So I didn’t insist. Even after that, I didn’t talk about it again. I went back to the stands.”
