She spills the beans to the fancy YOU Magazine, saying it was like a wake-up call.

In her rollercoaster of a life, she admits she almost didn’t go to the Oscars that night.

“That slap started something good,” she says, making it sound like some kind of divine message.

Looking back, she’s sure that slap was a turning point. After all the mess and time apart, she’s standing firm, saying, “That moment showed I’m sticking with him, no matter what.”

She remembers that crazy time after the slap, when she couldn’t believe what was happening. At first, she thought it was all an act, until reality hit her hard.

Jada Pinkett Smith On Blended Family

Jada Pinkett in a Facebook post in 2013 opened up about the struggles and joy of blended families in an opne letter and wrote, “While it isn’t easy, it’s a choice to get involved in that situation and once you do, it’s selfish to separate your man from his previous family.

Adding, “When she married Will Smith in 1997, he already had a son with ex-wife Sheree Zampino and she said that if she was going to love her stepson Trey as one of her own, she was going to have to form a close relationship with his mother.

Futhermore, “Blended families are NEVER easy, but here’s why I don’t have a lot of sympathy for your situation because… we CHOOSE them. When I married Will, I knew Trey was part of the package…Period! If I didn’t want that…I needed to marry someone else.

Consequently, “Then I learned if I am going to love Trey…I had to learn to love the most important person in the world to him…his mother. And the two of us may not have always LIKED each other… but we have learned to LOVE each other,” Pinkett-Smith wrote.
