Jadon Sancho blasts Ten hag over “performance” comment

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho has passionately responded to comments by his manager by Erik ten hag.

Ten hag indicated that he (Sancho) didn’t appear in United’s squad during the 3-1 Arsenal defeat due to his performances in training.

“You have to reach a level every day at Manchester United and we can make choices in the front line. So for this game he was not selected.”

Sancho’s response

Shortly after the public criticism, Sancho vented his frustration on social media, barely hours later.

“Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, “I have conducted myself in training very well this week.

“I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into,

“l’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!

“All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team,

“I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and (am) grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge.

“I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!”

Sancho has made three appearances for United this season, all as a substitute.

He began Ten Hag’s inaugural season impressively but was absent from October 22 until February 1.

During this time, he followed the World Cup from afar and underwent a personal winter fitness regimen in the Netherlands.

Sancho contributed to the Carabao Cup final victory against Newcastle upon his return, concluding the season with seven goals and three assists.

Since his £73m move from Borussia Dortmund to Old Trafford in 2021, Sancho has faced challenges in maintaining consistent form.

He has netted 12 goals in 82 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils.
