Ambassador Daniel Koikai, father of the late media personality and reggae music MC Mary Njambi, also known as Fyah Mummah Jahmby Koikai, has passed away.
It is believed that Mr Koikai died during the time the burial ceremony of his daughter was underway at the Lang’ata cemetery.
The unfortunate news comes hours after Mr Koikai paid a glowing and heartfelt tribute to his daughter who succumbed to the long battle with Endometriosis.
However, it is not clear how Mr Daniel Koikai met his demise but reports suggest suicide at play, his body was discovered by a family member at his house on Friday morning.
On Thursday 13th June Amb. Koikai acknowledged his shortcomings as a parent as he eulogized his daughter with a heavy heart.
“Dear Njambi my daughter, the time has come for me to atone for my acts of omission or commission on your final journey from this world it has been one of the most difficult episodes in my life, especially for your close family members – your mother, sister aunts, uncles and colleagues in the media and friends in and out of the country,” Daniel Koikai said.
“I will remember you in many ways and I ask here in public where I may not have fulfilled my duties as your Dad please forgive me, forgive me, and forgive me. And I pray that your soul will rest in Eternal Peace. Till we meet again bye-bye,”.
Jahmby was buried this morning at the Lang’ata cemetery next to her late Grandmother as per her last wish before she died, in a ceremony attended by her family and friends from the media industry among them Radio Personality Larry Asego, Mbusii, Jacky Vike, Talia Oyando, Larry Madowo, Larry Asego, Mbusii, Bernard Ndong, Njugush, Celestine Ndinda, Eddie Butita, Ciku Muiriri, Kris Darling, Senator Gloria Orwaba, Radio Jambo’s Lion Deh, Super Marcus, MC Gogo, Comedian Osoro among others.
