“A person who engages in, approves or condones fraud and theft. A person who is hellbent on using their political capital and connections to unlawfully exert pressure and interfere with the criminal justice system for his own selfish ends,” he stated in the demand letter.

Jalang’o noted that Nyakundi’s post attracted 979 reposts, 2,165 likes and 309 comments within five hours and 25 minutes.

He argued that those who engaged with the posts now viewed the first time MP as a criminal.

“It is common knowledge that all digital activity is public and permanent. Once posted online, a tweet remains on the platform forever.”

“It remains accessible to millions of people countrywide and worldwide and retrievable to anyone who googles the said tweet.”

Jalang’o has demanded an immediate retraction and a public apology from the blogger on the same platform the post was made.

“You immediately cease and desist from any further publication or dissemination of these defamatory statements, slander and/or libel with regard our client’s character and/or reputation.”

Additionally, “to the retraction and apology, we demand that a correction and clarification be published to inform the readership that the statements made were false and without merit.’

Finally, Jalang’o asks to be compensated for the damage of his reputation. He however does not indicate the damages amount he wants.
