People are guessing a lot about why he made this decision. Some think it could be because he’s planning something big and exciting for his fans.

This year, Jay worked really hard and gave his fans a lot of new music, which was different from what he did last year.

Scanning through his YouTube channel, Jay Melody unveiled his last auditory masterpiece four months ago.

Shortly thereafter, he unveiled the lyrical landscape in English for his song ‘Mbali Nawe,’ a release that left fervent fans eagerly anticipating the visual rendition.

During the last two years, Melody shared his music in many places, especially in Kenya, and it touched the hearts of many people.

His compositions like ‘Sugar,’ ‘Nakupenda,’ ‘Nitasema,’ and the resonant collaboration ‘Puuh’ with Billnass reigned supreme, ensnaring listeners in a harmonic embrace.

The Talented Songwriter Jay Melody

Renowned for his lyrical finesse, Jay Melody revealed a surprising revelation—he’s the mastermind behind Willy Paul’s chart-topping hits, ‘Njiwa’ and ‘Hallelujah’.

In a candid chat with Willy M Tuva earlier on in the year, Melody shared the backstory, admitting that during the composition phase, he was solely a songwriter.

However, an unspoken aspiration to venture into the limelight as an artist lingered within him.

I penned down the lyrics and crafted the melody. It was a complete piece. At that time, I was associated with Tanzania House of Talent (THT).

The collaboration with Willy Paul occurred distantly; there wasn’t a personal interaction. The song was passed on, and Melody received due compensation.

Yet, this marked the genesis of his recognition as a songwriter. Subsequently, his creative ink flowed into other hits like ‘Hallelujah’, ‘Njiwa’, and Nadia Mukami’s ‘Nitadata’, among a plethora of others, with more unreleased gems awaiting their moment.

The impact of his compositions remains evident, with ‘Njiwa’ and ‘Hallelujah’, featuring the vocal prowess of Nandy, amassing an impressive 23 and 13 million views respectively, attesting to Melody’s prowess in the musical realm.
