A woman who accused Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jay-Z of sexual assault has officially withdrawn her lawsuit.
Bringing the case to an unexpected end.
In a court filing on Friday, her attorneys submitted a notice of voluntary dismissal with prejudice, meaning the lawsuit cannot be refiled in the future.

Legal representatives for both defendants welcomed the decision.
Jay-Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro, hailed it as a victory, stating, “The false case against Jay-Z, that never should have been brought, has been dismissed with prejudice.
By standing firm in the face of heinous and false allegations, Jay has done what few can—he pushed back, never settled, never paid a single penny, and cleared his name.”
Jane Doe initially filed the lawsuit against Combs in October 2024, alleging she had been drugged and assaulted at an afterparty following the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000 when she was 13 years old.
In December, she amended the complaint to include Jay-Z as a defendant.
Both men vehemently denied the accusations.

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, had previously called the claims “so heinous” that he urged the woman to file a criminal complaint rather than a civil suit.
His legal team worked aggressively to have the case dismissed, challenging the inconsistencies in Doe’s allegations.
Push back from Jay-Z’s attorneys
In December, a judge denied Carter’s request to dismiss the case, allowing Doe to proceed anonymously despite pushback from Carter’s legal team.
However, as scrutiny of the claims intensified, Carter’s attorneys renewed their efforts, citing contradictions in Doe’s statements.

By January, they had called for the case to be thrown out entirely and even sought sanctions against Doe’s attorney.
Despite withdrawing the case, Doe stood by her accusations, telling NBC that she believed her statements to be true “to the best of her memory.”
Her attorney, Tony Buzbee, declined to comment on the dismissal.
Diddy behind bars
Meanwhile, Combs, who is facing over 40 separate sexual assault lawsuits, continues to fight serious legal battles.
His attorney dismissed Doe’s withdrawal as further proof that these cases are “built on falsehoods, not facts,” reiterating that Combs has “never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone.”
With this lawsuit now closed, both men remain under intense public scrutiny, as the wider legal battles surrounding Combs continue to unfold.
