U.S President Joe Biden was on Sunday, November 10 spotted struggling to walk on a sandy beach with First Lady Jill.
In a viral video that captured the moment, outgoing President Biden is seen stumbling several times as he walked besides his wife on the Rehoboth Beach near their home in Delaware, where they spent the weekend.
The 81-year-old Biden is seen struggling to maintain his balance on the loose and uneven sand, at one point Jill reaching out and grabbing his arm to steady him.
At the background, reporters who recorded the scene could be heard gasping as he stumbled down the sands, seemingly anticipating that he was going to fall, fortunately, he did not.
Joe Biden meeting Donald Trump
The reporters, however, can heard asking him what he will say to Donald Trump when the President-elect visits White House on Wednesday, November 13 for the traditional post-election meeting.
Meeting like this — between the outgoing president and incoming president — are meant to mark the start of a peaceful transition under America’s democracy.
But then-President Trump, a Republican, did not host Biden, a Democrat at the Oval Office after the 2020 election, after Trump lost his re-election bid.
Four years later, Trump successfully vied for the presidency, trouncing Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee.
The White House said that Biden called Trump last Wednesday to congratulate him and invite him to the White House. Their meeting is scheduled for 11 am.
Biden has faced criticism and swirling questions about his mental and physical strength to serve in the Oval Office over the last four years, as he made countless verbal gaffes and at times appeared confused.
Scrutiny over his aging mental state was in all-time high after his dismal performance in a debate against Trump when he was still running for president.
Following the poor showing and mounting pressure within his own party, Biden dropped his re-election bid and endorsed Kamala.
