Jubilee party appeals for help to fund activities

Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has called on Kenyans to donate funds to facilitate its party activities.

Kioni stated that the donations will help former President Uhuru’s party reclaim its political might in the Mount Kenya region.

Speaking during a press briefing on Tuesday, September 26, Kioni explained that it is time they are seeking well-wishers to support the former ruling party that has remained firm in defending the interests of Kenyans.

“We will also be looking for well-wishers to help us in funding for activities in the region,” said Kioni.

He also said that the Kamwene Forum was formed recently by opposition leaders from Central Kenya to help address issues affecting residents in the region.

Kioni disputed allegations that Mt Kenya leaders were planning an exit strategy from Azimio after they formed Kamwene Forum.

This was after opposition politicians from the region started holding meetings to discuss matters in the region during Kamwene Forums.

Kioni, Martha Karua (NARC-Kenya), former Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi, and Party of National Unity (PNU) leader Peter Munya are among other leaders attending Kamwene forum meetings.

“Azimio is intact but we have Kamwene forum to articulate issues of Mount Kenya region,” he said.

The embattled Jubilee secretary-general noted that the Kenya Kwanza government has failed to take care of the interests of the people in Central Kenya.

However, Kioni warned Kenya Kwanza leaders from the central region against defending corruption in government.

He underscored the need to lower the high cost of living in the country by reducing taxation instead of increasing taxes to already overburdened Kenyans.

At the same time, he insisted that as the opposition, they are pushing for constitutional amendments that would enable resource allocation based on the region’s population.

The Jubilee party secretary general also emphasized the need for Kenyans to adhere to former President Uhuru’s advice on holding the government accountable.
