June Chebet, daughter of the late President Daniel Moi has died at the age of 60 years, the Moi family has confirmed.
This was after the Moi family released a statement on Thursday April 11, 2024, requesting for privacy as they mourn the death of Chebet.
“At this time of grief, we request for your prayers and privacy as the family comes to terms with the tragic loss of our sister. May her soul rest in eternal peace,” family noted.
Chebet died at her home in Nairobi after developing breathing complications.
She was the youngest daughter of the former president.
The late president’s daughter stayed a private life, despite her father being the most powerful Kenyan leader from 1978 to 2002.
She attended the Nairobi Primary School, before she later joined the Kenya High School for her secondary education.
After her high school education, June moved to Canada for her university studies.
Moi, the second Kenya’s President, married the late Lena Moi in 1950, and were blessed with five sons and two daughters.
