Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has broken his silence after President William Ruto nominated him as the Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Information, Communication and Digital Economy.
Through his X, formerly Twitter, platform, Kabogo thanked President Ruto for putting his trust on him.
“Grateful to President William Ruto for the trust and honour of nominating me as Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication & Digital Economy. Thank you, Mr. President and the people of Kenya, for this opportunity,”Kabogo said.
Kabogo was among several political bigwigs who made a comeback after President Ruto on Thursday, December 19 announced a Cabinet reshuffle.
Mutahi Kagwe, the former Health CS who etched his name in Kenya’s history by steering the country out of the COVID-19 pandemic, was nominated as the CS for Agriculture and Livestock Development.
Former Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui, a man who arguably propelled Nakuru to City Status, was picked as the Investments, Trade and Industry CS nominee.
Former Sports CS Ababu Namwamba also made a comeback, with President Ruto nominating him to the position of Permanent Representative of Kenya to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)/United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON).
Kembi Gitura, the first senator of Murang’a County, was nominated as the chairperson, Board of Directors, Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital, while former Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi was nominated as the Chairperson, Board of Directors, Kenya Revenue Authority.
