Kabogo to Sakaja: Stop blame games, work or resign

Former Kiambu governor William Kabogo has urged Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja to stop blame games and work for the city electorate or resign.

In a statement posted on his X account, Kabogo reminded the Nairobi governor that he was not elected by Azimio leader Raila Odinga.

“Stop blame games, work or ship out, you were not elected by RAO but by the people of Nairobi or so I think.

“Some things you should have learnt at  least while walking on the high school grounds,” stated Kabogo.

Kabogo was responding to Sakaja who had alleged during an interview with Daily Nation that he was being fought because of his support for Raila Odinga.

Speaking during the interview, the Nairobi governor, noted that those who were accusing him of corruption, have no evidence and were fighting him because he supports Raila.

Sakaja added that his critics were envious of him and were expressing their frustration after failing to make money through corruption in Nairobi.

Kabogo’s remarks emerged a few days after alleged supremacy battles between governor Sakaja and deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.

The alleged supremacy battles between Sakaja and Gachagua emerged after the Nairobi governor declared interest in becoming chairperson for UDA party in Nairobi.

However, Sakaja had denied claims of the wrangles in UDA involving him and the deputy president.

“I am not happy that people are bringing in the deputy president on the issue of UDA leadership in Nairobi. That we are fighting, what are we fighting for? I don’t want to be deputy president and I don’t think he wants to be governor of Nairobi,” said Sakaja.

The allegations came after details emerged that the deputy president was supporting Embakasi North MP James Gakuya to become Nairobi’s UDA chairman.

Both Sakaja and Gaguya had declared interest in the position of Nairobi UDA chairman in the ongoing party elections.

“I want you to get this from the horse’s mouth; I’m vying for the Nairobi chairmanship position in United Democratic Alliance party,” Sakaja said.
