Arsenal star Kai Havertz and his wife, Sophia Weber, have stepped into a new chapter of their lives as they welcome their first child.
The 25-year-old German footballer announced the birth of their baby boy on Instagram, sharing a touching image of the couple holding their newborn’s tiny hand. Accompanied by a heartfelt caption, Havertz wrote, “Welcome to the world our little boy. We love you so much!”
The announcement was met with an outpouring of love and congratulations from fans, teammates, and clubs. Arsenal’s official Instagram account responded with heart emojis, while teammate Oleksandr Zinchenko joined in celebrating the joyous news. Havertz’s former club, Bayer Leverkusen, also extended their best wishes, commenting, “Congratulations to the entire Havertz family!”
Stood the test of time
Kai Havertz and Sophia Weber’s love story began long before the footballer became a household name. The two have known each other since their teenage years and officially started dating in 2018. Sophia, a model and influencer, has been a constant source of support for Havertz throughout his football career, often seen cheering for him from the stands.
Their bond grew stronger over the years, and in 2023, Havertz popped the question. The couple tied the knot in July 2024, shortly after the conclusion of the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament. Their wedding was an intimate affair, attended by close family and friends. Just a few months later, in November, they shared the exciting news that they were expecting their first child.
The football world celebrated alongside the couple when they announced Sophia’s pregnancy. Helene Spilling, the partner of Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard, expressed her excitement by commenting, “We can’t wait to meet your little one.” Similarly, Bukayo Saka’s girlfriend, Tolami Benson, shared her joy, writing, “SO EXCITED!!!!”
Now that their baby boy has arrived, more football stars have chimed in with their congratulations. Former Chelsea teammate Marcos Alonso wrote, “Wowww! Congratz!!!” while Chelsea goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli responded with heart-eye and heart emojis, showing his happiness for the couple.
While Havertz and Sophia bask in the happiness of becoming parents, the Arsenal forward is currently recovering from a hamstring injury sustained during the club’s warm-weather training camp in Dubai last month. This injury has sidelined him for crucial matches, but he remains optimistic about his return.
