Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has praised Kenya’s Gen Z youth, recognizing them as the year’s true heroes and heroines for sparking a revolution in the country.
Speaking during a church service in Mwingi township.
Kalonzo celebrated the youth for leading the charge towards greater accountability in governance, which he said has inspired all Kenyans to hold their leaders responsible.
Accompanied by Jubilee chair Jeremiah Kioni, former Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu, and several Ukambani legislators.
Kalonzo emphasized that the youth have ushered in a new era of transparency. “They have opened the eyes of Kenyans to demand accountability from those in power,” he said.
During his address, Kalonzo also expressed opposition to any attempts to illegally impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
He argued that due process must be followed, asserting that Gachagua deserves a fair hearing before any decision is made. “It would only be fair for him to be heard before any impeachment,” he stated firmly.
Jeremiah Kioni, speaking at the same event, declared Kalonzo as the leader capable of unseating President William Ruto in the 2027 elections.
Kioni emphasized that the Wiper leader is the best candidate to lead the opposition in reclaiming the presidency.
Former Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu, who had supported the UDA party in the 2022 elections, took the opportunity to apologize for backing a party he now claims made false promises.
“We were misled, and I apologize. Now, Mount Kenya is fully behind Kalonzo for the 2027 presidential race,” Waititu declared.
Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua also criticized President Ruto for allegedly trying to oust his deputy through unconstitutional means.
He accused the president of undermining the legal process, stating that any move against Gachagua should be done transparently and within the law.
Kalonzo’s rallying call to the youth and his defence of fair political processes showcased his commitment to a more accountable and democratic Kenya, as he eyes the presidency in 2027.
