Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has urged the U.S. State Department for Human Rights to intervene in Kenya Kwanza’s alleged harassment of Jimmy Wanjigi, as well as the abduction and killing of other Kenyan citizens.
Kalonzo also accused the state of criminalizing protests organized and led by Generation Z, which have been ongoing for two months. He called on the church to pray for the country, especially regarding issues of corruption.
He emphasized the importance of unity, stating that “there is light at the end of the tunnel,” and commended Generation Z for their relentless efforts to free the country from the grips of poor leadership.
His counterpart, Eugene Wamalwa, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the need for prayers as over 200 Kenyans, many of them youths, have lost their lives due to extrajudicial killings.
Wamalwa also expressed support for the ongoing protests, which he believes are crucial for the country’s future.
Additionally, he suggested that Raila Odinga’s departure from the Azimio coalition might be a blessing in disguise.
The leaders made these remarks while attending a burial ceremony in Mwingi West, which was also attended by Kitui Governor Julius Malombe, Senator Enoch Wambua, Women’s Representative Irene Kasalu, MPs Charles Nguna and Edith Nyenze, former Kitui Senator David Musila, former Machakos Senator Johnston Muthama, MCAs, and other prominent leaders.
