Kanye West, now officially known as Ye, has issued a partial apology to Jay-Z.
He expressed regret for past statements on social media that sparked public backlash.
The apology which was posted on X (formerly Twitter) on April 10, 2025 follows controversial comments Ye made in March about Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s children.
,Remarks he later deleted after criticism.

“I’m sorry Jay Z,” Ye wrote.
“I be feeling bad about my tweet but I still feel I gave my life to this industry and thought so many people were my family.
But when I needed family on some real [stuff], none of these people had my back.”
The tweet quickly went viral, gaining over 72,000 views within hours.
It marks another chapter in the complex relationship between the two artists.
Tensions between Ye and Jay-Z
Ye and Jay-Z were once close collaborators.
They worked together on Roc-A-Fella Records and released their joint album Watch the Throne in 2011.

However, their relationship soured in 2016 when Ye publicly criticized Jay-Z during his Saint Pablo Tour.
He claimed Jay-Z and Beyoncé failed to support him during his personal struggles.
Jay-Z later addressed the fallout in his 2017 track Kill Jay Z.
He rapped, “You gave him 20 million without thinkin’, he gave you 20 minutes on stage, [bleep] was he thinkin’?”
While there have been signs of reconciliation such as Jay-Z appearing on tracks during Ye’s Donda listening events but tensions have remained.
Mixed reactions from the public
Though some saw Ye’s message as sincere, others criticized it for not directly addressing the comments about Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s children.
Fans were split.
Some believed the apology focused too much on Ye’s own struggles rather than taking full responsibility.
Others praised it as a rare moment of vulnerability from the often controversial artist.
What comes next?
As of now, Jay-Z has not responded publicly to Ye’s message.
It remains unclear whether this partial apology will lead to a full reconciliation.
