KCB Bank, Kenya Pipeline extend unbeaten runs in KVF Women’s National League

KCB Bank continued their dominant run in the 4th leg of the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) Women’s National League, securing a commanding 3-0 victory over Kenya Army in a match played on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at the Nyayo Stadium Volleyball Court.

The match, which kicked off at 11:00 AM, saw both teams put up a spirited fight in the first set. Kenya Army, led by Jersey No. 5 Sheilah Kiplagat, launched aggressive attacks, but KCB Bank maintained their composure to claim the set 25-18.

In the second set, KCB Bank took full control, forcing Kenya Army to call their first timeout at 5-11. KCB’s well-coordinated attacks and rock-solid defense overwhelmed their opponents, securing a 25-10 victory.

The third and final set saw Kenya Army fight hard to stay in the game, but KCB Bank held firm to seal the match with a 25-17 win. This victory strengthens KCB’s position in the league standings as they continue their push for the title.

Kenya Pipeline Crush Young Spykers, Maintain Unbeaten Run

In another league fixture, Kenya Pipeline demolished Young Spykers 3-0 (25-2, 25-6, 25-15) at the Nyayo National Stadium outdoor court.

The match was Pipeline’s only playable fixture of the weekend after being awarded walkover wins against Vihiga Volleyball Club and Maranatha, who failed to show up for their scheduled matches on Thursday and Friday.

With this victory, Pipeline remains unbeaten, leading the standings with 25 points from nine matches. Fresh from winning silver at the CAVB Zone V Clubs Championship in Uganda, the team now shifts focus to their highly anticipated clash against KCB Women’s Volleyball Team next Sunday at Moi International Sports Centre, Nairobi during the Kenya Cup.

Meanwhile, Young Spykers continue to struggle in the league. With just one win—a walkover against Lipalikes—they sit second from bottom with three points from nine matches. The team, composed mainly of players from Ndunyu Njeru Secondary School in Nyandarua County, faces a challenging path ahead.
