Police have launched investigations after a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidate stabbed to death his classmate at Shiners Boys High School in Gigil, Nakuru County.
According to the police report, the form four student was part of the four KCSE candidates who attacked their classmate at the school on Saturday November 9, 2024 at night.
Reports indicate that the four candidates had differed with the victim over their personal items destroyed in school.
Gilgil sub-county police commander Winstone Mwakio said the suspects had earlier on been suspended from the school but reported back to write KCSE exams and found their personal items destroyed and suspected the victim could be responsible for the acts.
The police commissioner wondered how the killer knife was sneaked into school even as he expressed concerns over indiscipline cases in the said school.
“We can’t tell how they acquired the knife but the students there are notorious,” Mwakio said.
Mwakio added that the main suspect fled away with the knife and is being pursued. The law enforcement officers have also identified his three accomplices as investigations continue.
The victim was rushed to Nakuru Level 6 Hospital for treatment but was declared dead upon arrival at the medical facility.
The body of the deceased was moved to Nakuru morgue for post mortem examination.
