A Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier is fighting for his life after being brutally attacked by a gang of suspected robbers along Waiyaki Way in Nairobi.
The incident occurred at the Dam View Bus Stage, where the soldier was waiting for public transport to the city center.
According to eyewitnesses, the victim, who is attached to the Department of Defence headquarters, was approached by two assailants who attempted to rob him.
In the ensuing struggle, the soldier was stabbed in the left bicep before the thugs fled the scene, escaping with the victim’s mobile phone.
Police arrived at the scene and found the officer and lying on the road side bleeding profusely from his left upper arm.
The injured soldier was first taken to Eagles Hospital in Kangemi for initial treatment before being transferred to the Forces Memorial Hospital for further medical attention.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects and are appealing for information from the public that could lead to their arrest.
