Shadrack Mwadime, the Principal Secretary for State Department for Labour and Skills Development, has reiterated Kenya Kwanza Government’s commitment to empower the youth in the country.
Underscoring the crisis that is youth unemployment, PS Mwadime said that the government is creating policies, and entering into partnership deals — with both private and international stakeholders — that will see the crisis handled.
“Please give us time, currently we are looking for opportunities for our educated youth, and signing bilateral labour deals that are purely based on humanitarian foundation,” the PS said during the UDA Comrades Chapter at the Kenya School of Government in Mombasa on Saturday, September 28.
‘Kenya is blessed’
PS Mwadime said that Kenya’s biggest asset is her educated youth, insisting that creating opportunities for them is the end-game.
The UDA Comrades Chapter seeks to establish a robust social-political hustler movement to empower and mobilise youth across the country.
According to the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party, the initiative is designed to create a dynamic platform for students and young professionals to engage in political discourse, advocate for socio-economic development, and understand government policies, programs, and projects.
UDA Comrades Chapter is also geared towards creating a platform where university and college students can engage directly with the ruling political party, allowing them to share their concerns, ideas, and aspirations.
