The Kenya Airways management led by CEO Allan Kilavuka threw a welcome reception for the flight attendants and crew on board KQ100, the plane that was intercepted in the UK over security Threat.
KQ indicated that the group of individuals acted in utmost professionalism.
“Last night, we hosted a welcome reception for the crew of KQ100 to thank them for their professionalism, patience and going the extra mile to ensure the safety, security and well-being of our guests onboard.” Said KQ
Kenya Airways Group MD and CEO Allan Kilavuka who lead the event accompanied by COO Capt. George Kamal, CFO Hellen Mwariri, Fleet Manager B787, Capt. Ahmed Hassan indicated that they were proud of the team and that party was a token of appreciation.
“This event was hosted by our Group MD & CEO Allan Kilavuka accompanied by COO Capt. George Kamal, CFO Hellen Mwariri, Fleet Manager B787, Capt. Hassan Ahmed , among other leaders as a token of appreciation following the security alert on 12th October 2023.”

Kenya Airways (KQ) flight from Nairobi to Heathrow, United Kingdom, was on Thursday, October 12 intercepted by RAF jets after “potential security threat” on board.
The Boeing 787 was instead diverted to Stansted Airport at around 10:30 am (Kenyan time), with the London Stansted spokeswoman saying it “landed safely with”.
An official of UK’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) said that the Royal Air Force (RAF) fighter jets were launched to take control of the flight as a precaution.
During that party cake and hugs were shared in equal measure, as the flight crew lined up for photos and deep laughter.
