Kenya Lionesses Head Coach, Dennis Mwanja, has officially named the travelling squad set to compete in the 2025 HSBC Challenger Series in South Africa. The National Women’s Sevens side will begin their campaign at Athlone Stadium with back-to-back tournaments on March 1-2 and March 7-8.
Kenya Lionesses Drawn in Pool D
The Lionesses have been placed in Pool D, where they will face Poland and Samoa. The ultimate goal is to secure a top-four finish in the overall standings, which would earn them a spot in the prestigious HSBC SVNS play-off tournament.
Coach Mwanja Confident in Squad’s Readiness
Coach Dennis Mwanja expressed confidence in his squad, highlighting the intensity and dedication shown during their training sessions.
“The girls have been working hard in training, and I am confident they will put in the work on the field. This is a talented and resilient group, and I believe they are ready for the task ahead,” he stated.

Road to HSBC SVNS Circuit
The top eight teams from the first two rounds in South Africa will advance to the third round of the Challenger Series, scheduled for April 11-12 in Krakow, Poland.
At the end of the Krakow tournament, the top four ranked teams will earn a ticket to the HSBC SVNS play-off tournament in Los Angeles (May 3-4), where they will fight for a spot in the elite HSBC SVNS circuit.
