The Kenya Lionesses continued their dominant run in the 2025 HSBC SVNS Challenger Series, securing their second consecutive title with a commanding 17-0 victory over South Africa in the final.

Naomi Amuguni opened the scoring with a try at the far right corner, giving Kenya an early 5-0 lead after a missed conversion. This scoreline held until halftime.

In the second half, Sharon Auma extended Kenya’s advantage with another try, successfully converting to increase the lead to 12-0.

Freshia Oduor capped off the scoring with a final try, sealing a 17-0 victory for the Lionesses over South Africa and marking their second triumph in the 2025 HSBC SVNS Challenger Series.

The win ensured that the Kenya Lionesses finished the second leg of the Challenger Series unbeaten, mirroring their performance in the first leg. They secured victories of 17-5 against Belgium and 10-5 against Uganda during the group stage before defeating Colombia 12-5 in the semifinals.

With this success, the Lionesses advance to the third leg of the Challenger Series, finishing at the top of the table as the top eight ranked men’s and women’s teams proceed to the third and final tournament scheduled for April 11-12 in Krakow, Poland.

Following this round, the top four teams will qualify for the HSBC SVNS playoff tournament in Los Angeles on May 3-4, where they will compete for a place in the prestigious series.
