Kenya Police FC parts ways with Salim Babu and the entire coaching staff

Kenya Police Football Club has parted ways with head coach Salim Babu and his entire technical staff, following a uninspiring performance at the start of season 2024/25 season of the Football Kenya Federation Premier (FKFPL)league.

Under the leadership of Babu the law enforcers have only managed one win, registered three draws and one loss placing them at position 15 in the domestic league table with six points, prompting the club’s board to take drastic measures.

Kenya Police Bullets FC head coach Beldine Odemba will take charge of the Men’s team on interim basis as the board looks for Salim Babu’s replacement.

She will lead the charge in the upcoming fixture against Kariobangi sharks slated for Friday at the Dandora Stadium.

This makes Odemba the second female coach in the country to lead a men’s top-tier outfit after Jackline Juma of FC Talanta.

Since their promotion to the FKFPL in 2021, Kenya Police FC has dismissed at least one head coach each season. Salim Babu, who took charge at the start of last season, is not the only casualty. Coach Anthony ‘Modo’ Kimani, who was co-opted into the technical bench to meet CAF’s A License requirement, has also been relieved of his duties.

The Shake up has come as a surprise for many football fanatics give that the Kenya Police FC had a promising start of the season when they qualified and debuted in the CAF Confederation Cup two months ago.

However they existed the competition in the second preliminary round after meeting tough opposition from with Egyptian giants Zamalek SC.

The board is expected to announce a new head coach within the next week as Kenya Police FC aims to stabilize their campaign and improve their standing in the league.
