Kenya Power employee falls to his death from electricity pole

Police in Nyakach, Kisumu County, are investigating an incident where a man fell to his death from an electricity pole in the area.

A police report seen by TV47 Digital says that Jackson Okoth was among a team of Kenya Power staffers who were conducting major repairs of electricity infrastructure at the Nyabondo High School junction.

“Unfortunately, Jackson Okoth — one of the workers — who was on top of the pole fixing wire, accidentally [fell] off landing with the head,” the report, made by East Kadianga Sub-Location Assistant Chief, says. “He was pronounced dead upon arrival at Nyabondo Mission Hospital.”

Confirming the incident, Upper Nyakach Assistant County Commissioner Dawin Orina says that he, together with Officer Commanding Ogoro Police Station, and a DCIO officer, visited the scene.

The body was removed to Nyabondo morgue.
