Kenya Power has announced 11 counties are set to be affected by interruptions today (Thursday, March 28).
In a statement on social media, Kenya Power noted that power outages will be to facilitate system maintenance in the affected areas.
The affected counties include; Nairobi, Kiambu, Bungoma, Kisii, Nyeri, Trans Nzoia among others.
In Nairobi, parts of Kawangware 46, Kawangware Sokoni, KBS Kawangware, Precious Blood School and adjacent will face outage from 9am to 5pm.
Naivasha Road, Kikuyu Road, Waithaka, Ruthimitu School, Muhuri Road, Dagoretti High, Nembu School, Kagondo, Kiuru, Ndwaru, Gathondeki, Gichungo, DO Waithaka, Maono East, Mithonge, K-Rep and Equity Bank Kawangware are also affected.
Other areas in Nairobi to face power interruption are; Gandhi Avenue, Kodi Road, Summerdale Hotel, Sumba Road, Rio Hotel, Kisauni Road, Nairobi West Hospital, Madaraka Roundabout, Part of Muhoho Avenue, Muthaiti Avenue and Absa Nairobi West.
In Kiambu, Limuru Town Shopping Centre, Githongoti, Kwambira Equity, Manguo, Ngarariga, Nyambare, Rufus, Ngarariga Girls, Murengeti, Nyambare will be without power from 9am to 5pm.
Others are Ruaka Market, Getrudes Ruaka, Quickmatt Ruaka, Border, Slaughter, Kanungu, California Road, Equity Bank Ruaka, AAAR Hosp, Ruaka, Delta Ruaka, Joyland, Gacharage, Ndenderu, Citon, Kahingo Stage, Club Decimal and Royal Brain.
Affected areas in Kajiado County are; Namanga Town, Bisil, Ngatataek, Maili Tisa, Kumpa, Meto, Maparasha, Kureket, Emutoroki, Lorgusua, Olgulului, Imarba, Partimaro and Kajiado Town.
Other counties to face power outage
Mombasa: Coast General Sub County Hospital, PN Mashru, St. Elizabeth School, Jambo Hotel Chaani, Migadini, Port Reitz Hospital and Rubis Petrol Station from 9am to 5pm.
Kwale: Tiwi, Hill Park, Ras Kikadini, Kombani, Maganyakulo, Matuga, Coast Calcium and Ngombeni from 9am to 5pm.
Nyeri: Witima area, Witima Health Center, Witima Secondary, Kagunduini C/F, Kagumo Market, Kamuini C/F, Witima Health Center, Gaikundo Market and C/factory, Gaikundo Village, Mbari ya Ndiga Gaikundo, Gikira Hydro Auxilary, Mutitu Market and Ichamama C/Factory.
More affected areas in Nyeri are; Zinc, Mihuti, Wanjee, Karundu, Kangurwe, South Tetu, Mukurweini Boys, Mweru and Muchatha from 8am to 5pm.
Kisii: Bosongo Hospital, Le Premier Hotel, Junction Hotel, Embonga Hotel, Magharibi Hotel and Mashpark Hotel will face power outage from 7am to noon.
Homa Bay: Kanyamfwa, Gogo, Okiki Amayo, Adhiro , OTaro, Lieta, Nyamwala, Nyangau, Kibigu, Kibaga, Kanjira, St Lucy Raluowa and Kakhdhim will face outages from 9am to 3pm.
Bungoma: Hongera Millers, Pan Africa Chemicals, Kenols Kobil, Powe Gas, Butali Sugar, Tachoni Jaggery, Teressiapri Chebwai, Kivai, Matete, Chabadia Factory, Chimoi Market, Lwandeti, Kaburengu will be affected from 9am to 4pm.
Trans Nzoia: Kinyoro, Kisawai, Bondeni Kitalale, Parts of Saboti, Kaitet, Panacol, Marambachi, Rafiki, Shanti will remain without power from 9am to 5pm.
Uasin Gishu: Lingwai, Bindura, Chemusian, Chuiyat, Kipkabus Naiberi Resort, Sisibo Factory, Kapsundei, Flax, Wonifour Kaptagat Flax Naiberi, Cheptigit, Ole Engai Flowers, Sosiani Flowers Asai Flowers Bayete, Burnt Forest, Soliat, Kondoo, Cherus, Chereber, Kitingia, Olare and Ndanai.
Power interruption in Uasin Gishu will occur from 9am to 5pm.
