Kenya Railways suspends the morning passenger train services to Lukenya and Syokimau on 24th April 2025 due to a blockage of the railway line at Mukuru.
In a notice posted on X (formerly twitter) Kenya Railways stated that their team is on the ground working to ensure normal services are restored.
“Kindly note that owing to a blockage of the line at Mukuru, the morning link trains to Lukenya and Syokimau will not run. Our team is on the ground working to ensure that normal services are restored as soon as possible.” It stated.

The state corporation apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused and promised to notify them once normal services resumes.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and will notify you once normal services resumes.” It stated.
The company also cautioned Kenyans from putting objects on the track and hurling stones at passing trains in a public notification.
The corporation, which now admits students for technical courses, issued a warning at a time when there were significant security threats associated with standard-gauge rail train operations.
