The Kenya U18 girls’ football team is making waves on the international stage, demonstrating their prowess in the ongoing Schools Football World Cup in Dalian, China.
With an impressive performance, they have topped their group with 7 points, clinching a spot in the quarter-finals.
Their journey to the knockout stage was sealed with a thrilling 2-2 draw against Ghana in their final group game. This result showcased the team’s ability to compete at the highest level, holding their own against formidable opponents.
Throughout the tournament, the Kenyan girls have showcased their determination and skill, securing victories against strong contenders.
In their opening match, they edged past Germany with a narrow 1-0 win, demonstrating their defensive solidity and tactical acumen.
Their triumph continued as they faced England, securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory, displaying their attacking prowess and teamwork.
Kenya was among the increased quota of African teams in last year’s tournament who were making their ISF appearances for the first time.
Other African schools that made the championships then include: Uganda, Mali, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Gambia, Burkina Faso and Benin.
