The Kenya Under-20 rugby team, Chipu, is set to kick off its preparations for the 2025 Barthes Trophy with a training camp this Sunday at RFUEA Grounds, focusing on Nairobi-based players.
Nationwide Training Camps for Squad Selection
Following the initial training in Nairobi, the selected team will travel to Nakuru next week, where they will be joined by players from Nakuru and Kakamega for a combined training camp. This phase will allow the coaching staff to assess talent, build team cohesion, and refine tactics ahead of the prestigious continental tournament.

The 2025 Barthes Trophy is scheduled to take place in Zimbabwe from April 17th to 27th, 2025. As the premier U20 rugby tournament in Africa, the Barthes Trophy serves as a crucial pathway for young rugby talents aiming for international recognition.
