Kenyan men have finally spoken up online on why they do not want to date single mothers.

The trend started with a question posted by Content creator Ann Njeri on X social media platform.

The post has gathered 1.1 million views in three days with over half a million comments.

Njeri posted “Mbona most men huact weird wakiskia dem ako na mtoto?” (Why do most men act weird when they find out a lady has child?)

Why men won’t settle for single mothers

It is no surprise that most men in Kenya would prefer to settle with a lady who has no children.

Njeri’s post has attracted most men to jump into the comment section to share why they do not prefer to settle down with a single mother.

One X user kaihu_karathime stated that the uncertainty of settling down with a single mother is too high.

Men don’t trust another Man’s children

He shared that men fear fathering and nurturing children who might grow up and go back to their biological father.

Karathime shared that most men fear that children from single mothers could be from really old men.

“Shida ata hakuangi mtoto. Shinda ni mtoto ulitoa wapi? Mtoto ni wa nani? Mbona hauko na mwenye mtoto?

Karathime continued “Sasa ni mimi unataka ama unataka nikulelee mtoto? Na mwenye mtoto akirudi? Huyo mtoto ataniheshimu?

He conculded by saying, “Alafu ukute mtoto ni wa mbaba wa miaka 88. Kama uko na watoto olewa na yesu”

Men don’t trust women for the truth

Belden Mokua commented on Njeri’s post that some women never let go.

Mokua stated that some women still keep relationships with their child’s father.

Moreover, Mokua highlighted that women should share what happened with the child’s father to clarify everything.

He highlighted that men needed to have a sense of security when settling down with a single mother.
