Kenyan triple jumper Winny Chepng’etich Bii has once again etched her name in history by breaking her own national record at the New Mexico Team Open in Albuquerque, USA, in February 2025.

Bii soared to an impressive 13.92 meters, surpassing her previous national record of 13.66 meters, which she set at the Big 12 Indoor Championships in Lubbock, Texas, in February 2024.

In addition to her latest milestone, Bii had earlier broken Kenya’s triple jump record with a 13.49m leap, surpassing the Kenya Defence Forces’ (KDF) Gloria Mulei’s previous mark of 13.05m.

Who is Winny Chepng’etich Bii?

Bii competes in both triple jump and long jump for Oklahoma State University, where she is currently pursuing a degree in Business and Sports Management. In 2022, she became the first Kenyan to qualify for long jump at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Colombia. meanwhile In March 2024, she secured a silver medal in the triple jump at the 2023 African Games in Accra, Ghana.
