The government has released an update on the ongoing El-Nino Emergency Response, with the situation stabilising.
Through the El-Nino Emergency Response Centre, the government says the current situation remains stable and has shown significant progress.
The number of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps has notably decreased from its peak of 170 to 95.
The agency says that presently, 67,255 individuals remain displaced, a reduction from the previous count of 545,515.
“We expect further reductions in both the number of camps and displaced persons, particularly as camps hosted in schools are being vacated,” the agency says in a statement to newsrooms on Thursday, December 28.
As of now, the agency says that all roads are accessible, except for the Masalani Self-Anchored Suspension Bridge.
The government says that it has also sustained the delivery of relief supplies to the affected counties.
