Kenyan athletics legend Ezekiel Kemboi has expressed confidence in the ability of Benson Kipruto, Eliud Kipchoge, Timothy Kiplagat, and Vincent Kemboi to secure victory at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Speaking on Radio 47’s Mikiki Ya Spoti show on Sunday,3,2024, Kemboi highlighted the importance of training for the athletes, emphasizing that there is still ample time for preparation.

Kemboi singled out Eliud Kipchoge as the leader among the four, stating that Kenya is poised to claim the top four positions in the marathon event at the Olympics.
He commended Benson Kipruto’s recent victory at 2024 Tokyo Marathon, noting that it is a testament to Kenya’s strength in marathon running despite the loss of Kelvin Kiptum, who tragically passed away in a car accident.

Benson Kipruto emerged victorious setting a record of 2:02:16, followed by Timothy Kiplagat (2:02:55) and Vincent Ngetich (2:04:18).
Regarding Eliud Kipchoge’s performance, Kemboi expressed confidence in the athlete’s ability to excel at the Olympics despite his advancing age.
Kipchoge finished in 10th place with a time of 2:06:50, over four-and-a-half minutes behind the winner, Benson Kipruto.
Kipchoge, 39, initially kept up with the lead pack, but began to fall behind after mile 12.
Despite his lowest placing ever at a marathon, Kemboi said that Kipchoge’s performance underscores his resilience and determination in the sport.
