Residents of Momoniat area in Kipkelion East, Kericho County, are set to benefit from a KSh6 million healthcare advancement project funded by Kenya Pipeline through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The project, which is expected to be completed within three months, aims to enhance medical services and ease the burden on existing healthcare facilities in the region.
Speaking during launch of Momoniat Healthcare Advancement Project, Kipkelion East Member of Parliament Joseph Cherorot underscored the need to expand Momoniat Health Centre.

He emphasized that once Londiani Level 4 Hospital completes its ongoing upgrade, Momoniat Health Centre and other facilities in the region will play a crucial role in reducing congestion and improving access to quality healthcare.
“The facility will serve residents from four constituencies—Kipkelion East, Kipkelion West, Kuresoi, and Ainamoi. It will be particularly beneficial to the most vulnerable people living in hardship areas,” said Cherorot.
He urged residents to prioritize their health by registering with the Social Health Authority (SHA) to ease their financial burden when seeking medical services.
“We should not wait for illness to strike before taking action. Health insurance is essential in ensuring families do not struggle with medical bills,” he advised.
The Kenya Pipeline healthcare project is expected to significantly improve medical services in the region, ensuring residents receive better healthcare access and strengthening the overall healthcare infrastructure.
Cherorot also highlighted the impact of CSR initiatives in Kipkelion East, revealing that a total of KSh 416 million has been invested in various projects.
He pointed out significant developments in the education sector, such as the renovation of primary schools, where schools like Leberer, Mosomporik, Chesinende, and Kipyemit Kimugul have received tiled floors, steel doors, and 28-gauge roofing sheets to enhance a conducive learning environment.
Beyond healthcare and education, the MP addressed concerns over the long-standing challenges facing the Chepseon-Kipkelion road. He assured residents that construction had commenced, with a contractor already on-site, despite initial delays caused by material shortages.
